Columbus Classic

Welcome to the online headquarters for our 2026 Columbus Classic soccer tournament. We're excited to host you in Columbus!

Thank you for choosing to attend our tournament. The Columbus Classic will host boys and girls teams ages U7 through U16 with games being played on some of the best natural grass soccer fields in all of Nebraska at Wilderness Park Soccer Complex. We will also host some 11v11 games on artificial turf at Pawnee Park's Memorial Stadium.

Our club strives to provide the best soccer tournament experience we can for our guests. Every consideration was made with our schedule to avoid long delays between games or early start times for those traveling from more than an hour from Columbus. While not always perfect due to field and referee availability, rest assured we look at every team's schedule for the weekend to avoid coach conflicts and meet special requests whenever possible.

The City of Columbus will also once again host a special event just for soccer players and coaches on Saturday night at the Pawnee Plunge Water Park. There is no cost for players and coaches to attend (parents and siblings can purchase admission at the soccer complex for just $2).

Below are some important links and information for you to share with your parents and players:

PAWNEE PARK MEMORIAL STADIUM

Located in Pawnee Park in south Columbus, Memorial Stadium was recently resurfaced with brand new artificial turf. At that time, lines were added to allow the facility to now host 11v11 soccer games.

ROSTERS & CHECK-IN

Teams have until 11:59pm on Wednesday, June 3rd, to make changes to their rosters. The next morning, we will consider all rosters to be final. We will print copies of the rosters as they are at that time, and only players listed on the official printed copy will be allowed to participate. Any player(s) added to a roster after the deadline are ineligible to participate in our tournament. Any team found using an ineligible player shall be subject to our tournament rules for such circumstances.

Please add jersey numbers to your rosters (see the link below for the Affinity user guides).

Teams are allowed to club pass players within their own organizations. Guest players are also allowed. If borrowing any player from another club or organization, coaches must submit a completed Guest Player form to the Tournament Director at tournaments@columbussoccerclub.com prior to the roster deadline. Any required out of state travel paperwork must also be emailed to the Tournament Director, or can be presented at tournament headquarters prior to your first game.

Because we will already have your state approved rosters on file, there will be no need for arriving early for check-in. However, just to confirm that your team has arrived, we'd appreciate it if a coach from your team could stop by our tournament headquarters to let us know you've made it to town. We'll need a coach to stop by to pick up water park bracelets anyway. Tournament headquarters will be located on the north end of the concession building at the center of the complex.

TOURNAMENT RULES

The rules for our tournament are available at this link

FREE WATER PARK PARTY JUNE 6TH

This private event will be held on Saturday, June 6th, from 7:30-10pm. The water park will close to the public at its regular time of 7pm and reopen to soccer tournament players and their families at 7:30pm. Admission is FREE to all soccer players and coaches who attend the Columbus Classic (bracelets provided to team coach at tournament headquarters). Parents and siblings can purchase their own bracelets for just $2 each, also at the soccer complex. Bracelets will not be sold at the water park!

We do need a coach or team representative to stop by headquarters to pick up your team's water park bracelets.

BENCHES PROVIDED

Columbus Soccer Club will be providing team benches at each field. Coaches and players will occupy the side of the field with the benches, and parents and spectators will occupy the opposite side of the field. See our field map for additional details.

REMINDERS

Please do not warm up inside the goal areas. This part of the field sees a lot of wear and tear, and we prefer to keep our soccer complex in good shape.

Dogs are not allowed at our soccer complex (service dogs exempt). Please share this with your parents and anyone else who might be attending.

Our soccer complex has just one entrance and exit on the southeast corner of our complex. These are marked with signage, so please use the correct lane when arriving or leaving our complex to avoid causing traffic jams. When you enter our parking lot, you must turn right. Traffic is one-way around the parking lot (when looking at our field map, traffic should flow in a counter-clockwise pattern). When exiting, especially during times of peak traffic, you will need to turn right. Parking is not allowed on 18th Avenue. For safety reasons, do not drop-off children or family members on 18th Avenue. Please follow entrance and exit signs, barricades, and volunteers who might be directing traffic.

Parking is available on the entire east side of the complex. There is also parking lot on the north side of the complex. Access to the north lot does cross over a bike path, so please watch for pedestrians before crossing through the north gate. Do not park on the bike path. Due to hosting a full tournament, please do not park large RVs or campers in our parking lot. Also, you may not be able to park immediately next to your field. We will have carts available to help transport those in need to your field.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION

If you are coming into Columbus from the south, there is currently road construction for bridge replacement, so leave a few minutes early if taking this route. Also, the City of Columbus just closed 33rd Avenue between 27th Street to 38th Street, so please turn east at the intersection of 33rd Avenue and 23rd Street, and then north once you get to 18th Avenue to get to our soccer complex.

PLACES TO EAT, THINGS TO DO

Check back as we'll be adding some special offers from local restaurants and businesses. We'll also have a list of places to visit before and after your games while visiting Columbus.
