  • Socks of any color, covering your shin guards

LEAGUE RULES / PLAYING FORMAT

Our primary goal is to keep the game simple, safe, and fun. The current FIFA Laws of the Game will be used with the following exceptions:

  • Ball out of Play: When the ball passes completely over the touchline (sideline), the restart will be a kick-in nearest to where the ball left the field of play. When the ball passes completely over the goal line (outside the goal frame), it will be a corner kick if last touched by the defending team or a kick-in from the goal line if last touched by the attacking team (goal kick). During a goal kick, the opposing team must retreat to midfield until the ball is kicked and clearly moves. If the ball enters the goal (inside the goal frame) and fully crosses the goal line, a goal is scored and the restart is a kickoff at center field (assuming other conditions of goal scoring are met).
  • Goal Scoring: Goals must be scored from the attacking half of the field. If the ball is kicked from the defending half of the field and enters the opponents goal without being played by any player on either team on the attacking half of the field, the restart is a goal kick for the defending team.
  • Free Kicks: All free kicks (including kick-ins, corner kicks, goal kicks, and kickoffs) are indirect, meaning the ball must be played by another player before a goal can be scored. If an indirect free kick goes directly into the goal, the restart is a goal kick for the opposing team. Restarts for fouls are also indirect and should be taken from the spot of the infraction.
  • NO Offside: There is no offside in our league.
  • Number of Players: Depending on division and roster size, games may be scheduled to play 4v4, 5v5, or 6v6. Our goal is to maximize playing time and not have players on the bench for too long. If a team is shorthanded, games may be played with fewer players than scheduled. Or, one team may loan players to the other if really shorthanded. Coaches should rotate players to allow for equal playing time as well as to provide an opportunity to play different positions on the field.
  • Substitutions: Players may be substituted at any stoppage in play. Please do not substitute "on the fly" (during play).
  • Coin Toss: There will be no coin toss to start the game. The Away team will kickoff to start the game, and the Home team will kickoff to start the second half.
